NAIOP SoCal - Mentorship Program 2020-21

Your NAIOP SoCal Mentorship Program is back and we want you to be a part of it!

The purpose of the Mentorship Program is to bring together young commercial real estate professionals with veteran stewards of the commercial real estate industry to form life-long relationships that lead to personal and professional growth for both the mentor and mentee.

We are seeking motivated NAIOP SoCal Developing Leader members & under-35 YPG Alumni members to participate in the NAIOP SoCal Mentorship Program.  Previous mentors have included a cross-section of CRE industry veterans (including over 15+ NAIOP SoCal Board members) who volunteered and committed their personal time and energy to make the NAIOP mentorship experience a meaningful one for their mentees.  The 2019-20 program included 28 pairings, and we look forward to another successful year!

The Mentorship Program is designed to be a one-on-one mentor/mentee experience to foster a quality mentoring relationship between the upcoming leaders of tomorrow and the experienced leaders of today.  The program goals are for the mentor/mentee to have an open and confidential exchange on life lessons, personal/professional challenges and also potentially provide mentees exposure to experiences or people that they might not traditionally experience in their current position (Note: The Mentorship Program is not a job interview.)

Mentees will be individually assigned a mentor at the discretion of the NAIOP Mentorship Committee based upon on a mentee application review/selection process.  The following application will provide the committee insight into the applicant and provide the information necessary to align mentee and mentor.  Only a very limited number of applicants will be selected, so please complete the application to the best of your ability and submit it within the required time period noted below.

The Mentorship Program will run from September 2020-April 2021. There will be a commitment of approximately one mentee meeting per month, as well as an invitation to a wrap-up networking event for all mentees/mentors in late June. These group events will allow program participants to network with one another and provide the Mentorship Committee an opportunity to obtain feedback on the program. Please only apply if you are able to commit the time and effort to maximize the mentorship opportunity.
