AB 1000 - Warehouse Ban

Tell CA Assembly Local Government Committee Members to vote NO on AB 1000

Dear NAIOP SoCal Members and Advocates:

URGENT ACTION NEEDED! In 2023, your grassroots opposition to AB 1000 was instrumental in defeating the “warehouse ban.”

Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes is again pushing the bill and we need YOUR URGENT HELP to stop AB 1000 from passing in the California State Assembly Local Government Committee. A critical committee hearing on AB 1000 is scheduled to take place at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

AB 1000 will strip local government control over land-use planning and regulations.

AB 1000 will ban the development of logistics facilities and warehouses that are over 100,000 sq. ft. and within 1,000 feet of an ill-defined sensitive receptor. It is a de facto moratorium on the development or expansion of logistics and warehousing uses.

We are asking everyone associated with commercial real estate to take action. If you are a constituent of one of the nine Local Government Committee Members, please call and email them using the action alert link at: https://www.naiopsocal.org/warehouse-ban/

If you are not a constituent of one of the nine Local Government Committee Members, please take a minute to call and email their Sacramento offices, which are listed below this note.

In your calls and emails to Local Government Committee Members, simply convey the following message:

“I urge you to oppose AB 1000 when it comes up for a vote during the January 10, 2024 Local Government Committee hearing.”
