NAIOP SoCal believes in giving back and building better communities.
The NAIOP SoCal Community Relations Committee and our Young Professionals Group (YPG) Community Outreach Committee partner to raise funds, secure in-kind donations and volunteer with charities that promote educational opportunities and thriving communities.
Our YPG team has a hands-on approach, showing their support by tutoring local students, becoming Big Brothers or Big Sisters for a day, painting houses and more.
The giving doesn’t stop there. NAIOP SoCal also provides monetary contributions to the following esteemed organizations.
- Building Block Foundation Fund – An annual contribution of $10,000 is raised at our hallmark Night at the Fights event. Groups supported through this Fund include KIDWORKS, Orangewood Children’s Guardian Scholars Program and Taller San Jose, among others.
- UC Irvine Center for Real Estate, Paul Merage School of Business – NAIOP SoCal was proud to be a founding donor of the Center, with a $25,000 pledge paid out in annual increments of $5,000 from 2005-2009. We also support the UCI Real Estate Breakfast Series and the biennial Awards Gala and Lifetime Achievement Award.
- CRE-NAIOP Fellowship – Established in 2009, this fellowship combines a $7,500 financial award with an internship, real estate education and networking opportunities for a deserving MBA candidate focusing on real estate at UC Irvine. The award is administered through the Center for Real Estate.
- University Challenge for Charity – A $5,000 donation is made in the name of the winning school’s team at the annual UCLA vs. USC Real Estate Challenge, a competition that gives students from each school a chance to gain hands-on, real-world experience.
