YPG Update

Y Games 2017

On September 27th, after hours of fierce competition in events that tested the mental, physical and emotional limits of 190 competitors within 19 teams, Y Games 2017 is now history. Using a music video theme of “I Want My YPG!” first place honors went to Team Sabotage – congratulations to Captain Kevin Jones, Joon Choi, Daniel Darnell, Drew Huffman, Jamie Kline, Dean Navarro, JP Smith, Brett Tanimoto, Scott Wetzel and Chauncey White.  If you missed the competition at Newport Dunes this year, here’s a short video recap of all the day’s action, courtesy of Connect Media. Special thanks to event sponsors Newmark Knight Frank and Panattoni, along with all of the YPG sponsors who support the YPG program.

Not only is Y Games one of the most entertaining events of the year, this event also serves as a fun way for the YPG organization to give back to the community. As part of this event, participants donated a wide variety of clothing and accessories to support the men, women, veterans and young adults who are on their way to self-sufficiency. Find out more about this great cause at Working Wardrobes.

Big for a Day

On October 14th, YPG and Developing Leader volunteers hosted a special outing for 25 “Littles” with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County.  A fun-filled day was had by all at Knott’s Berry Farm, where young children were paired with their “Big” to enjoy rides, terrific food and one-on-one personal time. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to provide mentoring relationships for every child who needs and wants one – and even one day of a special outing makes a difference.  Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to participate, and to event sponsor Sunwest Bank.
