As I wrap up the year as Chair, I reflect on the incredible group of young professionals that willingly volunteered their time and actively participated in the Alumni Committee throughout the year. Thank you to each member that participated in the monthly meetings and contributed to elevating YPG in their own unique way. We accomplished a lot together and that’s something we should all be very proud of.
A big and special ‘thank you!’ to the Alumni Committee’s key leadership team. Each of you were intentional with your time and efforts over the past twelve months, and for that I’m very grateful.
Communications Chair Shaena Cushman and her subcommittee pushed forward YPG’s presence on social media with frequent posts about YPG events and highlighting recent deals or promotions received by a variety of our acclaimed alumni.
Social Chair Karen Okerlund and her subcommittee threw some incredible events including Y-“Video” Games, the 7/11 YPG-ULI-CREW Mixer and NAIOP’s disco-themed Kick-Off Party.
Community Outreach Chair Naomi Rizkowsky and her subcommittee generated some great new ways to give back through their creative giving campaign “Give Thanks & Give Back” which highlighted several YPG alumni who support or are involved with a variety of charities over the holiday season.
Continuing Education Chair Kelsey Stuart and her subcommittee arranged for select industry leaders to speak at our monthly meetings and exclusive property tours of projects such as FLYTE in El Segundo and The Press in Costa Mesa.
LA Committee Chair Chris Yamashita and his subcommittee organized what seemed to be a Los Angeles meet-up every month – hosting YPG alumni and prospective members at unique venues throughout Downtown, the South Bay and Westside.
Leadership Summit Chair Matt Larson and his subcommittee continue to plan for a remarkable Leadership Summit that will highlight YPG’s 15th Anniversary.
Sponsorship Chair Michael Chukwueke and his subcommittee hit their mark in raising money for the program this year and continued to strengthen the existing and new relationships YPG has established in its 15 years. Thank you to every company that elected to give back to YPG this year – we are grateful for your commitments.
Recruitment & Selection Chair Andy Bratt and his subcommittee met with over 100 prospective candidates for this year’s YPG class, and we’re excited to get those new members engaged with the program.
And finally, Curriculum Chair Jamie Kline and Case Competition Chair Richard Schwartz, along with their respective subcommittees, will be ending the year strong with graduation of this year’s YPG Class of 2019-2020! Congratulations to all 35 of you – we look forward to you joining our network of 400+ alumni!
