President’s Message

We place the health and well-being of our members, the industry and the communities where we live and work at the forefront of all we do. I remain optimistic that this very difficult situation will be resolved, and we will all emerge stronger and more resilient.

The current crisis has brought challenges we never could have imagined.  But every day I am impressed by the creativity, ingenuity and toughness of my colleagues, clients and fellow NAIOP members.  This has also reminded all of us that when we work together, sharing information and resources, we can all achieve more.  That’s why I don’t think I’ve ever felt more strongly about the value of involvement in NAIOP SoCal.

Even as we all work from home, the chapter’s committees and leadership are continuing their focus on supporting the needs of the industry.  In addition, the  NAIOP website is now dedicated to providing helpful resources to the commercial real estate industry during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  You  will find  data by market relative to state and local response as well as an ongoing series of informative webinars.  New materials and resources are being added every day.  Click here to check out NAIOP Corporate’s website.

I am grateful for the work of our Legislative committee and their unwavering commitment to protect the interests of the commercial real estate community. I encourage all of our members to stay engaged, take advantage of the information that they provide and help support their efforts as they will be keeping us at the forefront of ongoing changes and relief efforts as it relates to the business community.

Despite cancelling all scheduled events in the short term, we remain optimistic that we will be able to reschedule some of our signature events such as Night at the Fights later in the year.  We are also working on some online workshops and panel discussions that you can join from home.  We welcome your ideas for topics and great speakers.

Finally I encourage members to keep us apprised of any relevant information and resources regarding COVID-19 and its impact being developed by their company. There is great information out there that may be useful to share with our membership as well as opportunities to support the community.

The chapter will post additional information to its website at and on our social media platforms, including Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram. We also encourage you to contact our chapter office or me at if you have any questions or suggestions. Please let me know how NAIOP SoCal can be a strong resource for you.

Be kind to one another, and be kind to yourself.

Thank you for your understanding and for your support of NAIOP SoCal.
